What the UZH Career Profiler offers you

Reflect
By completing the UZH Career Profiler, you systematically reflect on what interests you professionally, which competencies you attribute to yourself and what is important to you in your future work.

Put your profile into perspective
Your personal report makes these assessments visible and compares your profile with different reference groups. The comparisons show similarities and differences, without evaluating them. They do not indicate what is better or worse.

Sharpen your profile
The results can help you identify which combination of interests, self-assessed competencies and values characterises you and what is particularly important to you. This can help you communicate more clearly what you bring to the table and what you are looking for in a professional environment.

Orientation

Recognise what characterises you.

Put your interests, self-assessed competencies and values into perspective and use them to explore career opportunities more purposefully.

Applications

Show what you can contribute.

Use your profile to make more conscious choices about which competencies, interests and values you want to highlight in your application documents.

Interviews

Talk about your profile.

Use the insights to explain more concretely what interests you, what you would like to contribute and what is important to you in your future work.

What the UZH Career Profiler is not

Not a career recommendation. The UZH Career Profiler does not provide a definitive answer as to which career or position is right for you. It provides starting points for reflection and career orientation – how you interpret the results and what conclusions you draw from them is up to you. The personal report follows the same principle: it is intended as a starting point, not the end point of your reflection.

Not an assessment. Your profile is not an assessment. There is no “right” or “wrong” profile of interests, competencies or values, and the reference groups do not represent a target profile. The results are based on your self-assessments; in particular, competencies are not measured objectively.

Not set in stone. Your profile reflects your interests, self-assessed competencies and values at the time you complete the survey. These may change as you gain new experiences and progress in your career development.
